We made it around Cap de la Hague against the tide! Not really to be recommended but we had a calm sea and following wind so mostly managed around 4 knots over the ground, dropping as low as 2.5 when the current hit 5.6 knots at one point. We stuck close inshore as the tide generally runs slower in shallower water and it seemed to pay off as we slowly edged our way round the corner.
We’re now just 5 miles from Cherbourg so will hopefully get there in time for a quick shower before a late meal and glass or two of wine.
