After motorsailing through the night we finally turned the engine off after breakfast and sailed gently along the Devon and Cornwall coast all day on a calm blue sea under blazing hot sunshine.
The wind gradually dropped after lunch until by tea time we were basically just drifting with the tide so we reluctantly put the engine on again when we were around 20 miles south of Fowey. We’re now heading towards Lizard Point, the southernmost part of mainland UK, and after rounding it we’ll head west into the Atlantic.
So now we just have to sit back, relax and watch the lovely scenery glide by as we head towards the slowly sinking sun ahead of us.
